What is the easiest way to catch a kitten?

There is this kitten that lives somewhere in my backyard. My dad leaves food out on the porch for the kitten to eat but now that it’s winter, the food freezes before the kitten can eat it. We want to try and catch it so we can take it to the vet and then give it a home so it doesn’t die in the snow.

Call your local humane society. Most will have humane traps that you can borrow (usually there is a deposit that is returned when the trap is returned). You put the food in there, then wait. We trap cats all the time for the shelter I work at and not a single one has ever been harmed.

Once the animal is trapped, transfer it to a large cage or large pet carrier. Spend time sitting calmly by the carrier and speaking gently to it. Once it’s used to you, it won’t be long before you can pet it. Then you have a wonderful kitty who loves you.

Just allow it to get use to your presence and eventually it’ll come up to you.

it depends on how hard it is thrown at you. but generally, you should use two hands when making the catch.
