I have a pixie bob female kitten (Tache) who is 3 months and have just introduced a stray female kitten (who’s a keeper because of her rare color) who is about 2 months old. Tache gets along fine with my 4 y/o dachshund but when we introduced the other female into the house she became curious. I let the new kitten use the litter box and Tache became very offensive afterwards. Tache goes so far as to growl and moan like a bobcat when she sees the other female or if she smells her scent nearby. I am trying to avoid a "cat fight" in my home. Please help, any suggestions would be useful.
P.S. I have bought a separate litterbox and feeding system for the new kitten and am keeping her in a separate room.
My 9 week old kitten seems to be getting the hang of using the litterbox. However, he seems to have a lot of trouble covering his feces after he uses the box. He will kick and kick at the litter, but never in the right direction. I end up just covering it for him, to keep him from stepping in it. For those of you who have had kittens, is there anything I can do to help? I have moved his paws in the litter and moved the litter myself. Does it just take time for him to get his aim right when kicking the litter?
I adopted a 7 week old kitten last weekend for my 17 year old sister. He will use his litterbox during the day and we thought he was using at night, but last night he peed in one corner in my sister’s room (the room he normally sleeps in) and pooped in another corner. Up until now we’ve only had one other mishap where he pooped in my little sisters room (where we had his litterbox the first 2 days), but that was during the day and we figured it was because his litterbox was moved. Are kittens afraid of the dark? We left a light on in the hall way (we live in a condo) and one on in the room where his litter box and food are kept. How can we get him to use his litterbox at night when he has to go?
I have a 6 week old kitten whose mom was an outside cat. She didn’t use a litterbox so the kitten was not able to learn this process from her. How do i teach it?
