What is the easiest way to catch a kitten?

June 19th, 2010 by Two-Legs

There is this kitten that lives somewhere in my backyard. My dad leaves food out on the porch for the kitten to eat but now that it’s winter, the food freezes before the kitten can eat it. We want to try and catch it so we can take it to the vet and then give it a home so it doesn’t die in the snow.

How many shots does a new kitten need and how much do they cost?

May 11th, 2010 by Two-Legs

I have a 2 month old kitten which I haven’t vaccinated. But now that I have the money I would like to take it. I would like to be as prepared as possible before going to the vet. I don’t want the vet telling me the kitten needs shots that it actually doesn’t need. Please tell me which vaccinations it needs and the approximate cost of each shot. She’s an indoor kitten and seems pretty healthy.

I would appreciate your response. Thank you.

How old does a kitten before he needs a flea collar?

May 5th, 2010 by Two-Legs

I have used Frontier or Advantage collars for fleas and it really worked. I believe my kitten may be too young for a collar now and I have some kitten flea powder will that work for now?
Where do I get these kitty flea drops at the vet or can I buy them @ Walmarts?

How do you get a kitten to use a litter box?

March 30th, 2010 by Two-Legs

I recently took in a 5-week-old kitten I found on the side of the road. I took her to the vet and was told she had a severe ear infection, but other than that she appeared okay. She’s been receiving her antibiotics and is now running, jumping, eating solid food, drinking water, and maintaining a normal life like any kitten would. The only problem is that the kitten has not gone to the bathroom in over 48 hours. What can I do to help with this problem? I’ve heard of rubbing a warm towel on her rear until she goes to the bathroom, but will this work for a kitten of this age? Will she do it on her own if I get her introduced to the litter box? I’m worried that something may be wrong if she hasn’t gone to the bathroom in so long, but she seems fine. Any advice?
